13 Match Review - Unlucky for some?

Postby Ianovich » Mon Nov 20, 2017 11:23 pm

Arsenal
Typical Arsenal really, every now and then look decent but generally lightweight. Surely he has to play Ozil, Sanchez and Lacazette together more regularly?
A run of 4 CS on the bounce looked promising but overall only 5 CS so far with only 1 away from home, already conceded 3 twice and 4. Have scored 4 and 5 but conceding 16 in 12 games not great.

Bournemouth
Scoring goals was a problem before they hit 4 at the weekend. But 7 games so far with no goals highlights their main issue. Will need to improve on 11 goals in 13 but will be relatively happy with progress so far. Only 4 CS not a lot to get excited about.

Brighton
4 CS so far but only one of those at home. They have only scored more than 1 goal 3 times so far but have yet to concede more than 2. 13 goals scored 14 conceded but will be very happy with their start.

Burnley
Everyone's favourite defensive enablers so far - 6 clean sheets already including their last 3 outings. They will need to keep that run going as so far only scored more than 1 goal twice this season. But then they have only conceded more than 1 twice as well. 12 for and 9 against highlights their strength and weakness.

Chelsea
Slow start for them but signs of improvement and Morata/Hazard looking like a cracking partnership. 6 CS so far (3 home 3 away).Have scored 4 goals 3 times now so maybe clicking into gear in the chase for 2nd place.

Crystal Palace
What a turd of a season so far. Yet to keep a clean sheet and have failed to score in 9 games. Add to that they have already conceded a 4 and a 5 could be a long season.

Everton
Carrying the Yorkie curse what a shit storm start for the big spenders! Only 1 CS so far they have also already conceded a 4 and a 5. Also failed to score in 5 games so far. Yet they are the only team to take points of City!

Huddersfield
Starting to struggle a bit but will be happy with their early season points haul. Already kept 5 CS (although that includes their first 3 games of the season). Have failed to score in 7 games so far and have conceded 4 twice.

Leicester
Mixed start only 3 CS so far, conceded 4 once but nothing really standing out at the moment. 3 games on the bounce now where they have conceded.

Liverpool
Defence is still shyte even with 5 CS (all 5 at home). They have scored 4 a couple of times and 3 goals 4 times so scoring as usual not a problem. The fact they have already conceded a 4 and a 5 tells you all you need to know - 18 goals shipped in 13 games is poor.

Man City
Just different class this season, mad numbers. 7 CS already for a team that doesn't worry about defending, they have scored in all 12 matches and have already scored 5 twice a 6 and a 7. Not yet conceded more than 2 and 40 goals scored in 12 games is scary for the rest of the league and only conceded 7.

Man Utd
Without Man City they would be well happy with the season so far. Leading the way in CS with 9, already scored 4 goals 5 times so entertaining as well. Yet to concede more than 2 and 28 goals scored with only 6 conceded. Problem is city are playing a different game at the moment.

Newcastle
Will be happy enough with their start. Only 3 CS so far and they have failed to score in 5 games. Bad habit of condeding a single goal (6 times so far) only one big loss where they conceded 4.

Southampton
Poor start for Saints, managed 4 CS but have failed to score 6 times and only scored more than 1 twice. Not yet conceded more than 3 but only 9 goals scored has to be a big concern.

Spurs
6 CS so far is fairly decent and managed to score 4 twice. Not yet conceded more than 2 so pretty solid season again. Just not winning enough to be a credible challenger for league honours.

Stoke
Only kept 2 CS which is poor for a boring side like Stoke are. Not yet scored more than 2 goals in a game. Conceding more than usual including a 4 and a 7. 26 goals shipped in 13 a big worry.

Swansea
Struggling again - 5 CS with 3 of those away from home. Have failed to score in 8 games this season and only scored more than one goal twice. 7 goals in 12 games is just not good enough. Only shipped more than 2 goals once (that was a 4).

Watford
Entertaining games, they score plenty and ship plenty. 5 CS (bearing in mind they started the season with 3 in the first 4 games). They have scored 2 goals 8 times so far. They have conceded a 4 and a 6 so far - 22 scored 21 conceded tells the story.

WBA
Horrible season so far, usually a place for cheapo defenders but hardly this season. Only 3 CS (they started the season with 2). They have yet to score more than 2 in a game. Boring side to watch, got to be in trouble.

West Ham
Looking like a really lazy disjointed team at the moment. Only 3 CS and have failed to score 5 times. They have already conceded 3 goals 4 times and 4 goals twice. 26 goals conceded heads the league for defensive shyteness. 6 games on the bounce now where they have conceded.
