Gosh Xmas 17

16-17 league
Various league entry contributions etc were given to GOSH Xmas 16 (Hare and tortoise, Opera and various folk making kind donations). Can't remember precisely what we whipped up but it was in excess of £500 quid of toys at cost price thanks to Weeman suppliers.

To pay (intention for Xmas 17)
VIP Chairmans 50% of 1st and 2nd prize = £625
Grand Finale £15 donated by Mintman :clap2:
£15 from Timmsy Grand Finale choke :agree1:
£30 from Clammers from Grande Finale :salute2:

I suggest given others have equally worthy causes we collect for different charities next year... although the opportunity for me and weeman to play Santa gives us an excuse for a beer up in London town :drinking:

Rescued this post from the archive. .

Just caught up with weeman for a beer and curry....

There is this sum from last year (although I never got the 2nd prize VIP :Bitter: ) there is also this year's leagues % and I think the league of leagues prize for 2nd which I think Yani intends to chuck this way.... There should be close on a grands worth of toys

We are going to go to Great Ormond st hospital london on Monday 4th Dec to drop off a raft of toys which weeman will order through his suppliers....

Basic plan is to meet mid afternoon and go to the charity office at the hospital and then have a night on the beers and a bite somewhere.

All very welcome to join us and say hello. Think sweep and timmsy and clammers are likely additions to the drinking party to be confirmed. Sorry it is a school night but diaries were a nightmare mainly cos of weemans international holiday schedule. :titter:

So next Monday me, weeman, timmsy, sweep and mebbe clammers are doing the Santa thing for Great Ormond St Hospital ....

Fanfooty has collected a total of £1350 quid this year which is just AMAZING.....

This includes VIP chair prizes, our 2nd in League of leagues, various league cuts, individual winnings donations and other bits and pieces

We have bought:
About £750 quids worth of toys from weemans suppliers, this includes cuddly toys, colouring books, radio controlled cars, meccano sets and various other give away presents.... weeman might post the full list of bits and bobs - but this amounts to literally hundreds of giveaway presents. His supplier has done cost on loads of stuff and thrown in some freebies - shout to Whitehouse Leisure :agree1:

Given how much we had we also thought we should get some more substantial items... these to stay on the wards and help the kids pass the time.... this includes:

4x Amazon kindle fire kids tablets
6x solid wood cot mobiles
10x cd players and some sets of audiobooks
2x portable dvd players
6 x headphones for the kindle and dvd players

think that is it - might have missed something - but essentially another 600 odd quids worth of gear....

Thanks to everyone for their generosity and participation in leagues / VIP chair etc etc

---------------

If you want to join you would be very welcome... Itinerary is roughly

1530 Meet at St pancras
1600 charity office at GOSH near Russell Sq tube at 4pm on Monday 4th Dec. :coffee2:
1630 few beers
1930 ish bite to eat probably around covent garden - :brioche:
2100 Sweep will be looking for his date from last year :sheepshag:

Me sweep weeman and timmsy playing santa. Boxes in view actually a fraction of what was delivered.... We couldn't drag it all in or else you wouldn't have been able to see weeman :titter:

Good effort all.... :clap2:
