Best team and its prospects

Postby Pottster » Fri Nov 07, 2014 11:52 am

Following on from Henkes delibrations and thought I'd put up what I consider to be my best team at the moment to stimulate your senses :albino:

Well happy with it and the only thing holding it back is the Saints block factor I feel. Would also like to see Baines in it at some point but apart from that, unless injury forces my hand long may it ride.

476pts 1930th

Fabianski
Bertrand
Chambers
Van Armpit

Hazard
Fabregas
Sigurdsson
Sterling
di Maria

Aguero
Costa

26 Transfers left and 0.9m in the bank

Any obseravations welcome :albino:

You're def doing better than me

As you said, do nothing although with 0.9 in the bank I'd be tempted to shift Van Aanholt mate.

I am a bit tempted to take him out, but looking at the long game, say for example Fabregas get's crocked, I can then do Armpit to Baines and Fab to Berahino, etc.

So transfering him out at the moment is not required I feel especially with the International Break coming up.

Yep, I just want to be considering options in case injury foces my hand, the next few transfers could be very important :albino:

Strirling is testing my patience but I know he would have spells of inconisitency, its one of those wher you kind of pray for an injury as I'd be taking a bit of a gamble ditching him while is playing games.

I'm pretty sure Liverpool's fixtures are kind and Sturridge is nearing a return so Sterling is a hold i reckon

The transfer trigger was pulled :Gun: really wanted Baines, so Baines & Berhino won out v Van Armpit & Fabregas.

Just lucky....
After playing this game for 6 years i now know that 2012 was one hell of a flukey season... :biker:
But hey ho...i did it , which was one hell of an achievement for a thick coont from Preston
Going to put that season down to begginers luck has i cant get anywhere near to the top 1000.....
Oh i got a bit giddy last season when i was 187th in around week 6 :thumb1:

Concentrating on the weekender league and going to have a go at the monthlies now for a bit of fun.....

No changes made since the Baines Berahino double that left me with 24 transfers.

Nudged up to 1377th now on 558.

Highest position so far with Stirling and Bertie to come who probs won't make any difference to placing, in fact if Saints keep another cleanie it's bad news for this team, which leads me to conclude that a switch to a semi block (probs Swansea) would be a risky but potentially very rewarding move :albino:

So ended up on 565 and in 2077th - can't sit on my hands really otherwise It's not going to make any major improvement.

So a Swansea block switch is looking the most likely way, shame they don't play on Sunday til the 14th Dec but with 2 tasty looking home ties coming up I can't hold back :albino:

I'll probably do it gradually and take the first step by switching Bertrand to Taylor, sounds a bit wrong but this team could gain 30 points in just the next three games on the Saints heavy teams :albino:

Or could just do nowt - actually I've got a team not a million miles off this one that already has Flappy, Rangel and Taylor with Shawcross hanging round like a bad smell so that could provide the distraction needed to leave this team alone :albino:

Now on 597 points (1890th) and 103 points behind the overall leader :albino:

Now down to 23 transfers as Di Maria and his injury prompted me to switch to Nasri, it's an instant 3-0 if Van Gal is to be believed and I would like to think I could stick with Nasri though to January or perhaps longer.

Hopefully an injury free festive period will see me hold position or perhaps even gain some ground before the FA cup starts to spice things up :albino:

Well at last a significant bit of progress :chant: but still about the same gap with those at the top of the leaderboard :hmmm:

Now on 651 and up to 1400th.

Pity Nasri could not muster a goal last night but he did get an assist.

Just Berahino causing me grief, he 's been rather slack of late.

Will Costa be back with a bang against Newcastle? ;pray:

Hmm, I think I'll bring some more Downings into my teams today. It gets Aggro off me lists and give a huge amount of flexibility to rotate my remaining 2 strikers with no limitations.

Some teams manage to hang on to players longer than others, first FA Cup weekend would be my guess... Most top players get rested for this date anyway so probably a decent shout

Slipped back to 1527th on 668pts despite another tranfers used - Aggro  Downing

Fabianski
Bertrand
Chambers
Baines

Hazard
Sigurdsson
Sterling
Nasri
Downing

Berahino
Costa

22 Transfers £4.6M in the bank

Nasri will become ADM when he's back but the more pressing contemplation is do I bring in Rooney (he's due some decent points soon :hmmm: ) for the festive period? for Berahino who must have been spewing sat on the bench watching Dorrens miss the penalty :albino:
