Last years Winners select 11

This is last years winners proposed starting 11 for next season......

And you lot took the piss out of mine last year :titter:

Manchester United fan Wayne Iball stormed to victory in Telegraph Fantasy Football last year and has already selected the eleven players to open up his title defence.

First things first. With six formations to choose from, how will our champion's team line up?

"I've opted to start out with a 3-5-2 formation which I'll probably switch to 3-4-3 after the first few rounds of matches after assessing the early form. I've mainly chosen players I consider to be safe picks as regular starters as I will be looking to preserve transfers as much as possible in the first few months of the season. I'll be aiming to keep two or three transfers remaining for the FA cup final, as it is being played after the final round of Premier League games this season. I've deliberately avoided selecting Chelsea midfielders to start with even though I think they'll feature among the higher points scorers. They have so many good midfielders to choose from so I'll wait and see how Jose Mourinho sets his team up before maybe transferring one in.

Very good advice on transfers Wayne but, come on, spill the beans, who are the eleven players you're putting your trust in?

In goal?

"Hugo Lloris (Spurs) £3.4m - now established as first-choice keeper and, with a more settled defence in front of him this season, might keep plenty of clean sheets."

Defenders?

"Leighton Baines (Everton) £4.7m - more expensive than last season but still represents great value - will continue to pick up plenty of attacking and defensive points whether he stays at Everton or joins the champions which I'd like to see!

Jonas Olsson (WBA) £2.9m - good value price for a regular starter in a team who can defend well and gets the odd goal. Rumours of a possible move last season so one to keep an eye on.

Razvan Rat (West Ham United) £2.8m - very experienced Romanian left back signed from Shakhtar Donetsk at end of last season. Should be a regular starter and may score some attacking points and keep some clean sheets."

Midfielders?

"Gareth Bale (Spurs) £6.0m - guaranteed regular starter and goalscorer - another one I'd like to see in the Manchester United red shirt next season!

Santi Cazorla (Arsenal) £5.5m - much more expensive than last season but still likely to be one of the top points-scorers. I may transfer him out for an in-form striker if early season form doesn't justify the higher price compared to last season. The first player I transferred in to my winning team last year and he remained there for the rest of the season.

Kevin Nolan - (West Ham United) £4.0m - another of last season's high points-scorers who will play regularly and should pick up plenty of fantasy football points again

Adam Lallana (Southampton) £3.6m - club captain who should start regularly although he missed a good part of last season through injury

Peter Whittingham (Cardiff City) £3.2m - a slight gamble on this choice as he lost form and was dropped towards the end of last season - if he plays regularly enough he has the potential to score well as he usually takes corners and free kicks and may sometimes plays as a striker - another one to watch out for."

And, finally, where it counts most - your two strikers?

"Robin Van Persie (Manchester United) £8.0m - top points scorer last season - costs £1m more now but too risky not to include from start - could well be top scorer again if he can avoid injury

Arouna Kone (Everton) £5.7m - reunited with former Wigan manager Roberto Martinez - I expect him to start regularly at Everton."

So that's the team to beat folks - and it's under budget too at just £49.8m.

Think you can do better than Wayne? Select a team now, your first team is free to enter and there's £500,000 up for grabs.

I think its a brilliant team.

"Hugo Lloris (Spurs) £3.4m - Spurs always and will continue to ship shit loads of goals in, solid pick is you don't want alot of 6 pointers.

Jonas Olsson (WBA) £2.9m - good value price for a regular starter in a team who can defend well and gets the odd goal. Rumours of a possible move last season so one to keep an eye on - Yep I can see Chelsea buying him to play at the heart of the defence

"Gareth Bale (Spurs) £6.0m - guaranteed regular starter and goalscorer - Agreed ---- for Madrid

Kevin Nolan - (West Ham United) £4.0m - another of last season's high points-scorers who will play regularly and should pick up plenty of fantasy football points again - Can also pick up alot of bookings and goes on large droughts in front of goal, overpriced this year for me. Gets goals but not alot of assists for a forward thinking midfielder.

Adam Lallana (Southampton) £3.6m - club captain who should start regularly although he missed a good part of last season through injury - Good reason followed by a bad reason.

Peter Whittingham (Cardiff City) £3.2m - a slight gamble on this choice as he lost form and was dropped towards the end of last season - if he plays regularly enough he has the potential to score well as he usually takes corners and free kicks and may sometimes plays as a striker - another one to watch out for." - A MASSIVE GAMBLE, was rubbish at prem level before ans will be rubbish again.

Arouna Kone (Everton) £5.7m - miles better VFM knocking around, also might not be auto pick in all prem games.

The other four are good picks though. :Trumpet:

Apparently Mr Iball is a 49 year old Accountant from North Wales :hmmm:

Name? Job? Location....not good

At least life's looking up for the poor fooker

I don't personally think much of his team, but anyone who wins TFF deserves maximum respect IMO....even Scotty
